David has been instrumental in the development of energy efficiency standards for new buildings and appliances in effect at the regional and national level in the United States, Russia and China. He earned his doctorate in Physics from the University of California at Berkeley.

His recent book Invisible Energy: strategies to rescue the economy and save the planet articulates his vision of the economic and environmental advances that could accrue from a new pursuit of wasted energy.
