- Discuss the differences between light sources.
- Explain the relationship between energy use, first cost and total ownership cost.
- Identify which LED products are suitable for a given application.
Basic understanding of current commercial and industrial lighting solutions.

Architects, engineers, building owners, lighting and electrical contractors, facility managers, school facilities officials, healthcare facilities officials, manufacturers, dealers and distributors, lighting designers, interior designers and anyone interested in commercial building design.
LEDs are rapidly changing the landscape for commercial and industrial lighting systems. Learn how to compare LED lighting solutions to existing systems using metrics such as product life, lumen output, productivity, human centric lighting, color rendition, ambiance, dimmability, energy consumption, recycling issues and cost. We’ll evaluate several lighting systems and calculate the benefits of upgrading to LEDs. We’ll also discuss lighting trends, federal legislation, Energy Star- and DesignLights Consortium-compliant products, rebates, and new code changes that will affect future lighting solutions and controls.

He is a state of Wisconsin licensed designer of engineering systems and holds a lighting certified designation from the National Council on Qualifications for the Lighting Professions. Randy is a former EPA Green Lights Surveyor Ally and a former State of Wisconsin WEI-2 Program Consultant and currently teaches lighting technology and business development classes for Wisconsin's Focus on Energy program, Northeast Wisconsin Technical College, and various school and business organizations. He has 32 years of experience in the lighting industry.
